Chris passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2008 from Leukemia. His family and friends have made it their mission not to forget him or his unique personality.
Thank you for visiting our website and keeping Chris in your thoughts. Through Primate Aflame Charities, Inc., we strive to spread the same joy and creativity that Chris brought to the world.
When Chris was a sophomore at Redlands High School, he took Mr. Bibo’s Digital Dawgs class and had to come up with a name for his production company. Chris created his flaming-monkey super hero and called it Primate Aflame. How it all began...
Experience

8/19/1986 - 4/11/2008
We'll never know what he could have come up with, but we bet it would weird and/or awesome!
It all begins with Chris Long….
Christopher was born August 19, 1985 in Redlands, California. He had a unique first birthday by celebrating it in Ghana, West Africa. Chris and his mother, Julie, were living there for a short period of time. Upon return to the States, they settled back home in Redlands. Chris grew up and graduated high school in Redlands. He temporarily attended Collins College in Tempe, AZ to follow his passion in the media arts. Chris loved music, photography and movies and his dream was to start his own production company. At the age of 22, he was just beginning to come into his own. He was learning the trade of carpentry to help subsidize his dream and had gone back to school at Crafton Hills Community College in Yucaipa, CA.

Chris came down with some flu like symptoms as his parents, Stan and Julie Waite, were leaving for a two week dream-vacation to Scotland. These symptoms didn’t raise any flags as Chris was an otherwise healthy young man. He did notice some bruising, but he had attributed them to his recent enrollment in a weight lifting class. While his parents were away, Chris became so sick his sister, Rhiannon, insisted he go to the hospital. Rhiannon called her parents a few hours later to let them know that he was at the hospital and the doctors were telling them that he had Leukemia. Their first reaction was disbelief. A few hours later Julie and Stan got a call from the hospital recommending they come home immediately. Of course they got the first flight they could. Just after the flight was booked, another call came in from the emergency room physician. He told them he felt Chris had had Leukemia for a few weeks if not months and his body was fighting it until it could not fight any longer. The white blood cells were multiplying so quickly that his heart could not keep up. The ER doctors fought hard for Chris but were unable to save him. He passed away 10 hours after being diagnosed.
To honor Chris’ memory, his parents, sister, family and friends created a team for the Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (now known as Blood Cancer United). The team name is Primate Aflame, the name Chris had chosen for his production company.
Primate Aflame Charities, Inc. has now been born and will raise funds for annual educational scholarships, help local programs that support media arts, which include, but are not limited to; music, film, photography and production, as well as continuing to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Even though Chris and his family were not able to utilize the resources of the LLS, they gladly help raise funds for such a worthy cause so that others can.

"IN MY OWN WORDS, CHRISTOPHER ALAN LONG"
I could be trouble. Be cautious of my antics.
I can be really fun or I can be really lame. It all depends, I guess.
I'm really quiet until I get comfortable with people, then I'm crazy and really weird.
My heart is made of glass.
I dance all the time, so don't be alarmed.
My childhood was in the late 80's and early 90's. This is the best generation you could have possibly been a part of. I saw the rise of the computer and the death of the cassette tape. I remember when cell phones were ginormous and Ninja turtles reigned supreme.
I have a heterosexual life-mate by the name of Chris Tracey. CHRIS FO-EVA! (Repeatedly hits chest increasingly harder.)
Oh yeah, music and film are my life.
One of my favorite things in the world is "Coachella."
When I was in middle school, I made stop motion films with Stars Wars toys and sh!t that had Radiohead. Portishead and Bjork were used as sound tracks.
I have a passion for film - Lots of movies in every genre, lots of which I guarantee you've never heard of.
My favorite directors are Wes Anderson, Sofia Coppola, Peter Jackson, Richard Kelly, Zack Braff and Michel Gondry.
I have a passion for music. Indie, Electonica, Trance, Electro, Drill N Bass, Various 90's Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Grind, Gore, Hardcore, Screamo, Emo, (not country, I hate f**king country.) Folk, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Jazz, Classical, Big Band and combinations of the previously mentioned genres.
In general, I love music, film, midi keyboards, rain, forests, snow, beaches, Nintendo DS, "trees," Ableton Live, Reason, PhotoShop, photography, film production, horror,Radiohead, Coachella!
The books I've enjoyed are: The Lord of the Rings, The Shining, Enders Game, The Hobbit, The Doom Series, Eragon and Eldest, The Citizen of the Galaxy, Anne McCaffrey books about Pern, The Zombie Survival Guide, and Z War.
My heros: Dave Grohl - he's rad to the max, mainly because he's multi-instrumentalist. Chris Tracey - he's one of the best drummers in the world. Johnny Greenwood - he gives me a hard-on for being so f**king awesome. Jack Black - Also the sh!t, not the best actor, but he still rules your f**king face. COACHELLA
Who I'd like to meet - Daft Punk, Radiohead, Bob Marley, Richard D James (the aphex twin)
